The bocce tournament between municipal officials in Montichiari returns on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 8 p.m. at the open-air bocce court on Via Molino di Mezzo. Organized by the local Bocce Club, the event is a late-summer tradition that has been renewed for almost thirty years and brings together the mayor, councillors and municipal officials.
The competition will consist of a series of matches featuring mixed pairs, formed through a draw held before the evening begins. The format brings together representatives of the governing majority and the opposition, setting political divisions aside for one evening and leaving the contest to technique and playing ability.
Last year’s edition was won by the pair formed by Davide Tiraboschi, councillor for Education and Youth Policies, and Federico Migliorati, the press officer, who entered the competition after a political representative suddenly withdrew. Municipal councillors Roberto De Angeli, representing the majority, and Alessia Di Pietro, representing the opposition, finished second.
Mayor Marco Togni has taken first place on three occasions over the past seven seasons. At the end of the event, prizes will be awarded to the winners and participants, provided by the volunteers of the association chaired by Giuseppe Romano.
Admission is free. In the event of bad weather, the tournament will be moved to the covered “Renzo Cuelli” bocce court on Via Trieste.
