Concert in Castiglione: “From Baroque to Rock”, from Tartini to Queen

The concert “From Baroque to Rock – Da Tartini ai Queen” is scheduled for Saturday, 22 August 2026, at 9 p.m. in the courtyard of Palazzo Pastore in Castiglione delle Stiviere on Lake Garda. It features violinist Davide De Ascaniis and multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Fiorentin. The performance traces more than three centuries of musical history, bringing together classical repertoire, film soundtracks and rock.

The programme moves across different eras and musical languages, starting with the Baroque and classical music of Giuseppe Tartini and Niccolò Paganini before reaching the sound of Queen and contemporary music. The project places apparently distant repertoires in dialogue, highlighting artistic affinities, influences and connections.

De Ascaniis’s violin and the instruments played by Fiorentin create a musical narrative based on the dialogue between tradition and modernity. The melodies of great classical music are reinterpreted alongside pieces and atmospheres associated with rock, in a sequence designed to offer new perspectives on familiar musical languages.

“From Baroque to Rock” explores musical crossover through a repertoire that combines virtuosity with expressive energy. The transition from the compositions of Tartini and Paganini to the music of Queen becomes the central thread of an evening devoted to the continuity between past and present.

The event takes place in Castiglione delle Stiviere, in the courtyard of Palazzo Pastore. It is part of the cultural and tourism programme of the City of Castiglione delle Stiviere.
