Tignale fire extinguished: mayor urges people to avoid alarmism

The fire in Tignale that affected the Coste pinewood in recent days has been completely extinguished. Mayor Daniele Bonassi announced this after rain fell on Sunday and Monday. The Fire Brigade has left its post, while the firefighting teams continue their prevention work with drones, deployed at different times of the day to identify any new outbreaks.

Bonassi also addressed the images circulated during the emergency. In his view, some of them did not reflect the actual situation and may have caused concern among tourists. The mayor also reported that the smoke, produced by burning wood and dispersed by the wind, had not caused any particular health concerns for the local community. The water situation is under control: water tankers were not needed, but responsible use of water remains important.
