Marzia Roversi opens solo exhibition at Quingentole’s Palazzo Vescovile

Marzia Roversi’s solo exhibition opens on Saturday 5 September at 5.30 pm at the Palazzo Vescovile in Quingentole, at 24 Piazza Italia, where it will remain open on weekends until 5 October. The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Quingentole and presents works inspired by the world of fairy tales, populated by female figures and animals.

Roversi creates large collages on wooden boards and then uses graphite to give the images a three-dimensional reading. In some works, the technique is enriched with acrylic paint and gold leaf, used to define the background.

The result is a collection of suspended, mysterious scenes in which young female figures emerge like apparitions outside time. Their gazes change from one work to another: their eyes may be wide open and intense, or half-closed and directed towards a more intimate, meditative dimension. Animals, from finches to felines, appear alongside the girls in harmonious relationships.

The Quingentole exhibition follows the show held from 28 August to 3 September at Sala Domus in Salò, in Piazza Duomo, which also featured works by Alessandra Garzetti. Garzetti, who has previously exhibited in Moniga del Garda, works with figures glimpsed through a delicate weave, while Roversi’s research focuses on the delicacy of the images and the handcrafted construction of her collages.

The artist is also present in Mirandola with a gallery at 20 Via Curtatone, the Emporio Amolà, which brings together art books featuring her illustrations, decorated objects and other works.
