Lions book drive in Desenzano: 344 volumes donated in August

The Lions book drive completed in August at the Giunti bookshops in Desenzano del Garda collected 344 new volumes through eight activity days organised by the clubs in Garda Zone 41/42. The books purchased and donated during the “Aiutaci a Crescere. Regalaci un libro” initiative will go to facilities and associations in the area.

The total cover price of the volumes amounts to 3,204.31 euros. The initiative involved volunteers from the Lions clubs, who worked in the Giunti bookshops throughout the month and collected publications aimed mainly at children and young people.

The Lions will distribute the books directly to the paediatric department and facilities of Desenzano Hospital, as well as to local associations selected by the clubs of the Garda Zone. The aim is therefore twofold: to support young patients and provide new reading material to local associations.

The conclusion of the drive was accompanied by thanks to the volunteers for the time and dedication they devoted to the eight activity days. Racing driver René Arnoux also offered his greetings during the initiative.
