The opening of the Don Giorgio Tosi municipal nursery in Lonato del Garda has moved forward. La Sorgente Cooperative Society has been appointed to manage the service for 2026–2031, while the municipality presented the organisation, opening hours and support available to families.

The nursery will accommodate up to 45 children aged between 6 and 36 months, with priority given to residents of Lonato del Garda. The number of places may be increased by 20 percent within the limits set by regional regulations. Children will be divided into six sections organised according to the needs of the different age groups, from the containment and calm required by infants to the independence programmes for older children.

The facility will be open Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm. Families may choose full-time care, morning part-time care or afternoon part-time care. An extended post-nursery service will also be available until 6.30 pm to help families reconcile work and personal life.

Fees and enrolment procedures will be managed directly by La Sorgente Cooperative. Several forms of support are available to reduce or eliminate the monthly fee, including municipal contributions, the INPS Bonus and the regional Nidi Gratis Plus scheme.

For the Don Giorgio Tosi municipal nursery, families with an ISEE between 0 and 20,000 euros may receive the municipal contribution and join the regional scheme for the elimination of the fee. For an ISEE between 20,000.01 and 25,000 euros, families may access the regional scheme with a monthly reduction of 100 euros. Applications for the agreement must be submitted by 25 September 2026 to the Social Services Office, together with the required documentation. Information is available in the public notice issued by the Municipality of Lonato del Garda.

The name, approved by Resolution No. 104, pays tribute to the priest who served as parish vicar in Lonato from 1983 to 1996. Don Giorgio Tosi, who died in 2000 while providing assistance after a road accident, is remembered for his educational commitment to children, young people and families through after-school activities, afternoon programmes, summer camps and sports initiatives.
