Peschiera del Garda railway station forecourt named after Giuseppe Puntin

The forecourt of Peschiera del Garda railway station has been named after Giuseppe Puntin, a figure closely associated with Bardolino and the Lake Garda area. The ceremony was attended by Bardolino Mayor Daniele Bertasi, Deputy Mayor Giuditta Tabarelli and numerous residents of Bardolino.

Puntin is remembered for his long-standing role as managing director of Pederzoli Hospital, whose development he helped advance, turning it into an important healthcare reference point for the area. His professional and institutional commitment also extended to administrative and civic life.

During the 1960s, Giuseppe Puntin served as a municipal councillor in Bardolino, offering his expertise and spirit of public service to the community. Mayor Bertasi highlighted the importance of his contribution to the development of healthcare around Lake Garda and his connection with Bardolino’s civic administration.

The municipal administration also announced its intention to organise an initiative at a later date to pay tribute to him. The naming therefore represents recognition of his professional and institutional work and of his ties to the area.
