Munich–Torbole record: 9 hours and 8 minutes to Torbole

The Munich–Torbole record was set by 24-year-old Niklas Ludwig and 29-year-old Max Hoffmann, who reached Torbole in 9 hours, 8 minutes and 31 seconds during the night between Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August. The two professional triathletes left Marienplatz in Munich at midnight and covered 364.67 kilometres through three countries, at an average speed of 39.9 km/h and with 2,411 metres of elevation gain.

Along the route, they faced headwinds in the Inn Valley, muscular problems and stomach complaints on the Brenner Pass, as well as several navigation errors after Bolzano. After slowing down to recover, they regained their pace during the second half of the route and beat their ten-hour target. The feat was carried out with the support of a seven-person team. It is not considered an officially certified record because it was achieved outside a competitive classification, but it constitutes an FKT, meaning the fastest known time on that route.
