Arrest in Castelnuovo: 38-year-old detained after harassment on bus

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Castelnuovo del Garda on the evening of September 2 after two young women reported an incident on a scheduled bus travelling from Sandrà to Castelnuovo del Garda.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Castelnuovo del Garda, on Lake Garda, late on Wednesday afternoon, September 2, after two young women reported an incident on a scheduled bus travelling from Sandrà to Castelnuovo del Garda. The man allegedly harassed one of the young women and insulted her friend when she intervened to calm him down, then poured the beer from a can over her head. Carabinieri from the Radiomobile Section of the Peschiera del Garda Company reached the stationary bus and identified the man, who was reportedly highly agitated due to alcohol abuse.

During identification and his transfer to the security cell in the service vehicle, the 38-year-old allegedly threatened and attacked the officers, attempting to evade the check and damaging the vehicle’s window. After the Verona Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed, he was arrested on serious suspicion of resisting and threatening a public official and causing criminal damage. On September 3, the judge validated the arrest and ordered him to report to the judicial police, postponing the hearing until October 2026. The presumption of innocence remains in force.
