Sirmione Municipal Pharmacy is now a more accessible and comprehensive local healthcare facility. The process began in 2025 with the move to larger, more easily reached premises and continued in 2026 with the opening of the new spaces and the expansion of services dedicated to prevention, health and personal wellbeing.
The situation was outlined after the approval, at the 20 July meeting, of the financial statements of Azienda Speciale Sirmione, established in 2012 and wholly owned by the municipality. 2025 closed with a profit of approximately €7,000 and turnover of €1.413 million, up from €1.364 million in 2024.
The result was achieved in a year marked by the move from the former premises, which had become difficult to access after the gate of the condominium where it was located was closed. Total investment in the new premises amounted to approximately €305,000, covering renovation, video surveillance, furnishings and equipment. During the transition, rental costs also rose to around €42,000 because of the double lease.
The new, larger and more functional spaces make it possible to develop the Pharmacy of Services model. The offering includes electrocardiograms, cardiac and blood-pressure Holter monitoring, telemedicine, tecar therapy, self-testing, and blood-pressure and body-weight measurements.
The pharmacy also provides CUP services, support for digital healthcare services and home delivery of medicines, with particular attention to more vulnerable people. The premises can host consultations and healthcare professionals, encouraging prevention, monitoring, health education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
In 2025, personnel costs rose to approximately €202,000, compared with €157,000 the previous year. Staffing is now complete, with four employees, ensuring greater continuity in the delivery of services.
The Municipal Pharmacy also takes part in the Health Roundtables promoted by the Social Services of the Municipality of Sirmione, helping connect the administration, healthcare services and local organisations. Azienda Speciale’s stated objective is to consolidate what has been achieved and continue expanding prevention and assistance opportunities for the community.
