Garda Karate Team: Gold for Alessio Locatelli at the 37th Trofeo Alpe Adria

The Garda Karate Team took part in the 37th International Karate and Parakarate Open in Lignano Sabbiadoro, held on 21 and 22 August 2025 at the Bella Italia Village sports hall. The competition brought together 246 clubs and almost one thousand athletes from across Europe, competing on six tatami mats.

The team’s most significant result came from Alessio Locatelli, who won the gold medal in Parakarate. His performance helped the Garda Karate Team secure fifth place in the overall Parakarate standings.

For the association, Parakarate is a central part of the group’s sporting journey and values. Alessio’s performance was described as a demonstration of determination and of sport’s ability to foster personal growth and inclusion by overcoming barriers.

In kumite, Martina Forgioli won the bronze medal after a competition marked by determination and consistency. Fabio Venosta finished fifth, narrowly missing out on the podium after a series of high-level bouts.

Isabella Vigevani finished seventh, showing the determination and quality that the Garda Karate Team considers an important foundation for the continuation of her competitive activity.

The trip to Lignano brought together individual results and team spirit, following months of work in the gym. The group is now looking ahead to the new season, with the aim of building on the experience gained during the tournament.
