Salò unveils Rovatinsky violin tribute to master luthier Gasparo
A Rovatinsky Salò violin has been installed in Fossa, in the Lake Garda town of Salò, close to the birthplace of Renaissance instrument maker Gasparo da Salò.
The pixel-mosaic work by Brescia artist Alberto Rovati stands near the junction of Via Gasparo da Salò and Via Garibaldi. It pays tribute to Gasparo da Salò, a figure closely associated with the early development of the modern violin.
The installation joins more than 370 Rovatinsky mosaics across Italy and Europe. In Salò’s historic centre, it links a contemporary street-art language with the town’s long tradition of instrument making.
